WokWise (“WokWise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) helps home cooks discover real Chinese recipes and adapt them to their own kitchen. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our website, app, AI recommendation features, recipe pages, saved recipes, ratings, and Kitchen Profile.

1. Information We Collect

  • Allergies or ingredients you avoid;

  • Pantry items you already have;

You choose what to provide. You can leave fields blank or update your Kitchen Profile at any time.

Allergy and dietary information may be sensitive. We use this information only to personalize recipes, improve recommendation quality, and help filter ingredients based on the preferences you provide.

1.3 Recipe Activity

When you use WokWise, we may collect information about your recipe activity, including:

  • Recipes you view;
  • Recipes you save;
  • Recipes you rate or review;
  • Recipes you mark as cooked;
  • Shopping list items you add or check off;
  • Ingredient guide pages you view;
  • Feedback you provide about recommendations.

1.4 AI Recommendation Inputs and Outputs

When you use AI features, we may collect:

  • Prompts or requests you type, such as “I have tofu and eggs. What can I cook?”;
  • Information from your Kitchen Profile used to personalize the response;
  • AI-generated recommendations, explanations, substitutions, and shopping lists;
  • Feedback you provide on AI results.

Please do not enter information that you do not want processed by WokWise or our service providers.

1.5 Device, Usage, and Technical Information

We may collect basic technical and usage information, such as:

  • Browser type;
  • Device type;
  • Operating system;
  • IP address;
  • Approximate location based on IP address;
  • Pages visited;
  • Referring pages;
  • Date and time of use;
  • Error logs;
  • Cookie or local storage identifiers.

We use this information to operate, secure, debug, and improve WokWise.

1.6 Payment Information

If we offer paid features in the future, payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Apple, Google, Stripe, Paddle, or other payment processors. We do not use allergy or dietary restriction information for advertising targeting.

3. AI Providers and Automated Recommendations

WokWise may use third-party AI service providers to process your prompts and generate recipe recommendations, ingredient explanations, substitutions, and cooking guidance.

AI-generated responses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your personal situation. You should always review ingredients, product labels, and cooking instructions before using a recommendation, especially if you have allergies or dietary restrictions.

We may use prompts, outputs, and feedback to improve WokWise, troubleshoot issues, and maintain safety and quality. If you do not want certain information processed, do not include it in your prompts or Kitchen Profile.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.
